Dr. Elan Kaufman, Pediatric Dentist and Surgeon, has been specializing in children’s dental health for over twenty years. A Magna Cum Laude honors graduate from Binghamton University, he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the prestigious Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where he received high honors. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a fellow for the American academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and an associate member of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
He expanded on his formal education with years of first-hand experience. He has served as the chief of Pediatric Dental Medicine and Surgery at St. Luke’s. He has also served that role at Roosevelt Hospital in Manhattan and Brooklyn’s Coney Island Hospital. Dr. Elan Kaufman is currently a faculty member at the Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, and an inspector for the American Association for the accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities.
Dr. Elan Kaufman has spent the better part of his adult life learning how to help the children of Brooklyn. He has been considered a role model in his field, and has held many leadership positions in several local, state, and national dental organizations. He has even served as the Chairman of the Oral Health Committee of New York Chapter II of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
He is also the Co-Founder and Co-President of the Children’s Dental Foundation, a non-profit organization aimed at providing optimal dental care to needy and less-fortunate children. He preforms this service alongside fellow founder (and his wife), Dr. Jennifer Kaufman. They live in Lower Manhattan with their son, Harrison Charles and daughter, Penelope Jane.
